Then our Data Scientist role may be the perfect opportunity for you As a Data Scientist, you will develop and deliver innovative and comprehensive insights, undertake complex analysis, and implement advanced analytical capabilities that enable Aurizon to achieve it’s strategic, operational, and commercial objectives. You will be a valued member of the Data Science team within the Data Reporting and Analytics section of Aurizon’s Technology division. Provide expertise in quantitative (statistical and mathematical) analysis and advanced machine learning methods (data mining, pattern detection, simulation, predictive modelling, and deep learning) Partner with business units to identify strategic and operational process improvements Advise, guide, and manage the delivery of value adding data science projects and initiatives Prototype, develop, manage, update, and maintain complex analytical models, processes, frameworks, and tools Use cutting-edge analytical capabilities and complex data analysis to generate sophisticated data insights Provide guidance on the acquisition, integration, retention, and publication of data incorporating business requirements and knowledge of best practice About you: Degree in operations research, applied statistics, mathematics, computer science, physics, engineering or a related quantitative discipline. Experience in designing and implementing applied statistical, mathematical, data mining, and machine learning solutions on complex and diverse data sets using language systems and tools Experience in developing scalable analytics solutions by using big data and analytics services in major on-premise and cloud platforms Experience in designing, testing, and validating complex experiments, scenario modelling, and hypotheses to qualify and validate findings Polished and professional communication with the ability to translate complex technical information into user-friendly business terms Balance innovation, risk, and practicality when assessing new ideas A curious self-starter What we offer you: At Aurizon, we support the development and growth of our employees.
