Australia. - JBS Australia Pty Limited: Maintenance Manager. Located 12km south of Townsville, a major gateway to Queensland’s world-renowned Great Barrier Reef, the JBS Townsville processing facility is JBS Australia’s most northern operation. Cattle are sourced from a wide supply area, including the Northern Territory, north and north-western Queensland and packed into the AMH brand, the most trusted name in beef. The facility employs approximately 430 employees and processes approximately 900 head per day, operating 4 days/week.We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Manager (Electrical/Mechanical) at our Townsville Plant. The position requires extensive plant knowledge, provides solutions using sound principles and requires the ability to lead and develop the maintenance team. This is a permanent full-time position.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Maintenance Management -Take a proactive role in the management of all aspects of the maintenance operations.Develop and implement maintenance and engineering systems of control appropriate for the plant operations.Develop and implement appropriate equipment maintenance strategies to ensure reliability of plant.Monitor daily plant maintenance activities to ensure priorities are known and met.Provide direction, advice and assistance to the maintenance and production staff in maintenance-related issues.Ensure that maintenance manning levels meet plant requirements.Monitor and respond to maintenance workforce capability needs.Ensure the effective and efficient use of contractor and suppliers.Continuous Improvement -Take a proactive role in understanding the root causes of downtime and designing and implementing solutions to eliminate those causes.Proactively analyse production and maintenance information to identify weaknesses in equipment and/or maintenance strategies to eliminate significant or repetitive breakdowns.Represent the maintenance department on allocated project teams.Prepare and submit minor capital applications.Develop and implement a positive culture of safe operating procedures and practices.Communication -Accurately communicate with plant management and production personnelEnsure accurate and frequent communication with maintenance team.About you:5 years of Electrical experienceA relevant engineering degree is desirable.Postgrad qualifications in electrical management will be an advantage.Experience gained managing maintenance for large industrial plant.Experience in a food manufacturing environment desirableRefrigeration, oil and coal boiler experience highly desirableThe ability to plan organise and control project and maintenance activities to optimise the use of available resources.Experience preparing, managing and complying with R&M budgets.Refrigeration and boiler experience would be an advantage.Sound knowledge of OH&S regulationsMust have Australian work rights.What next?If you’re passionate and want to be a part of the largest meat, pork and salmon manufacturer and producer in Australia, this opportunity may be for you..
